The reason why it was considered worse than its source material is because more people died in the anime. In the anime adaptation, the deaths in the beginning were pretty impactful being that they were unexpected. However, as the show continued, it felt like it was done for shock value.

Run is the second-in-command of the Jaegers and a major character in Akame ga Kill. He is shown to be well mannered, intelligent, and capable of deductive reasoning on par with Esdeath. After his death, he became a puppet of Kurome. He was voiced by Junji Majima in the Japanese version, and by Christopher Patton in the English version, who is perhaps best known for voicing the original GreedKurome is a former member of the Jaegers, and the younger sister of Akame. Sold by her parents to the Empire along with Akame, the sisters were trained as assassins. She was drafted into a different assassin group than her sister and the siblings parted ways. Kurome looks very similar to her sister. She has short black hair in a twintail style and black eyes. She wears a black sailor uniform
